The project I’ve been working on is now live! You can download Google Chrome for Windows or participate in the development. We’re actively working on OSX and linux ports and you can follow our progress on #chromium on freenode. I’m hanging out there as tony^work and tony^shell.

I’m really excited that we’re releasing this as open source software and I’m focusing most of my efforts on the linux version of Google Chrome.

Team members posting about the launch:

I’m confused as to why google didn’t just release this as a webapp.

I’ll admit that I wasn’t going to try it out, but now that I know you’re on the team, I’ll definitely give it a shot.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Actually, I don’t know which is more impressive: Chrome, or how good you all are at keeping secrets.

Very snappy when it loaded the page and the comic book sold me on it. I was practically begging for it on Mac… until I went to gmail.com, and all I got after the loading was a blank page. So close, so mean. Like a big practical joke.

Hmmm… it was the proxy here. Thank you to the good Mr. Belcher for lending a hand.

Please just make it portable, so other ‘nixes can run it too.
